The racial makeup of the CDP was 88.45% White, 8.19% African American, 0.34% Native American, 1.03% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.82% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.25% of the population.
There were 3,368 households, out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
