CPR/AED & Choking Training (Adult, Child and Infant) Non-Certification Friends and Family

Learn infant CPR, AED use, and choking relief in an instructor-led, hands-on class for parents, grandparents, and caregivers. This Friends & Family class does not issue a certification card. Classes are available Thursday through Monday. Choose “Pick Date” to view available dates, or call (678) 540-4450 to book.

An infant may need CPR after an emergency that affects their breathing or heartbeat. Possible causes include:

  • Suffocation
  • Drowning
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Head trauma or serious injury
  • Lung disease
  • Poisoning
  • Electrical shock

Could you respond if an infant needed help?

When a baby is choking or unresponsive, it can be difficult to know what to do. This class gives parents, grandparents, babysitters, and other caregivers in Alpharetta a chance to learn and practice infant CPR, AED use, and choking relief with an instructor.

What you’ll learn

In this hands-on session, you’ll practice:

  • Infant CPR: Practice chest compressions and rescue breaths for an infant.
  • AED use: Learn how to use an automated external defibrillator in an emergency involving an infant.
  • Choking relief: Learn what to do when an infant is choking, whether responsive or unresponsive.
  • Recognizing an emergency: Review signs such as unresponsiveness or abnormal breathing that may require immediate action.

Emergencies can have many causes, including suffocation, drowning, serious injury, poisoning, or electrical shock. The class focuses on recognizing when an infant needs help and practicing steps you can take while emergency services are contacted.

Why take this class?

This is a Friends & Family class for people who want to learn practical skills for caring for infants. It is not a certification course, and no certification card is issued. If you need CPR certification for a healthcare role or workplace requirement, check the details of the course required by your employer before booking.

Key benefits

  • Hands-on practice: Learn and practice infant CPR, AED use, and choking relief in an instructor-led setting.
  • Several weekly class days: Classes are available Thursday through Monday. Check “Pick Date” for current options.
  • Clearer next steps: Practice the skills and review what to do if an infant needs help.

Choose “Pick Date” to see available class times, or call (678) 540-4450 to reserve a spot.

What impressed me the most was the emphasis on hands-on practice. We had plenty of quality equipment (mannequins and AED trainers), and the instructor provided immediate, constructive feedback. I left the class feeling genuinely confident and prepared to perform CPR and use an AED in a real emergency, which is the whole point of taking the course! If you need your certification or recertification, whether for professional or personal reasons, look no further. This class covered not just the "how-to," but the critical "why" behind the techniques. 10/10 - I will definitely be returning here for my renewal! Dr. G

I’ve taken many courses over the years and David led one of the best trainings. Very practical, memorable, and the “meat and potatoes“ of what we needed to know in CPR, AEDs, and Abdominal Thrusts. Highly recommend!

From start to finish this was the best CPR training I’ve had. The information was delivered clearly and concisely and being able to practice on manikins that had lights to guide you if you were doing compressions at the correct speed and depth was extremely helpful. Being able to use the AED was so helpful! I feel very confident in my skills after this class and I cannot say that prior to! Highly recommend!

I did the blended First aid, Adult CPR, and pediatric CPR course. It went over a lot of new and detailed information online. The in person certification was also informative and great to be hands on. The instructor was very helpful in answering extra questions as well as going over the procedures and scenarios. Definitely recommending this location.

Great place to get certified or renew your CPR certification! I took a hybrid class this time for CPR, AED & First Aid: half online and half classroom. The class was thorough, yet quick enough to accomplish in an afternoon and the instructors at CPR Training school were fabulous. Thanks for helping me get my certificate up to date!!! I feel prepared to help if needed in an emergency!

David presents the material in positive, interactive, and real life methods. He keeps you engaged and provides you with a comfortable learning atmosphere. His insight brought key applications that I had never considered (sending someone for an AED can be a wild goose chase. Know your environment - I walk pass the AED every day but could not have told someone go to workroom hall and get the AED). I recommend this location in Alpharetta - cute old house and I most definitely recommend David. I will search for him in my next renewal!

I remember every step and safety precaution a person should take for CPR, AED, and First Aid. Thank you CPR Training School!

Great Training program. They offer a wide variety of CPR related classes and have a very flexible schedule that accommodates us working folks that need to squeeze this in for work. Knowledgeable trainers and they have up to date, clean equipment to learn with. It was actually a fun experience obtaining my new CPR/AED/Blood Borne Pathogens certification. The sincere personalities of the staff make all the difference as well. P.S. they also have programs for young adults (babysitters, older siblings, ect.)
